Notes for Jerome A. HART


Mr. Hart was educated in the California public schools. He was Associate Editor (1880-1891), and Editor (1891-1907) of of the San Francisco Argonaut, to which he contributer letters of foreign travel (1887-1904), and translations from French,
German, Spanish and other languages. At the time this was one of the most popular weekly periodicals on the coast. He was a member of the California Academy of Sciences, and the Pacific-Union Club. He authored "Sardou and the Sardou Plays" (1913), "The
Golconda Bonanza" (1923), and "In Our Second Century (from an Editor's Notebook)" (1931). He also edited "Argonaut Stories" (1906). He and Ann divided their time between San Francisco and their San Jose home.
