Notes for Milan Brant ROSS


From the White Hall Register, May 27, 1921, page 8, col. 2-4 we have the
following:
Milan B. Ross died at Passavant Hospital, Jacksonville, Ill. at 3:30
p.m., Thursday May 26, 1921 aged 77 yrs. Student of history and
mathematician of unusual ability. Born 17 Apr. 1844 at Old Ross
homestead 1 1/2 miles SE of White Hall. Graduate of Gregory school south
of town and State Normal Univ. from which he graduated with distinction
and honors. Taught school. Entered into HW business in Lincoln, Ill.
and here. Married Christine Hunter 15 Apr. 1884 in Lincoln, Ill.
Children (2) Beatrice, wife of Edward Ransby of Winnipeg, Canada, and
Miss Lillianoss who resides at home.
Milan B. Ross was Postmaster of White Hall, Dir. of Ill. Telephone
Co., Dir. of White Hall Sewer Pipe and Stoneware Co. owned land near
White Hall and in Texas.
