Notes for Willard ROSS


Willard Ross
Willard Ross, age 78, was born at Farber, Mo., March 6, 1901. He
was the son of William and Julia Kathryn Spencer Ross, former Wellsville
residents. He went to his Heavenly Home on Jan. 5, 1980.
He married Lillie Ann Brooks July 24, 1927. Children of this union
were: William Willard Ross, now deceased; Mrs. Homer (Kathy) Chapman,
Plano, Texas; Mrs. Harry (Dorothy) Sisson; Joseph Ross; Mrs. Donald
(Wilma) Hunter; and Mrs. Leonard (Betty) Evans all of Bowling Green.
He served in World War I, was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, a
member of the I.O.O.F Lodge for 55 years, a member of the Friendly
Pioneers Senior Citizens and member of the First United Methodist Church.
He was a carpenter and farmer until retirement.
He was predeceased by his parents, one son, three brothers and two
sisters.
He is survived by his wife, one son, four daughters, fifteen
grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nine foster children, one
sister, Mrs. Marguerite Sullivan of St. Louis, three brothers, Forest
Ross and Virgil Ross of St. Louis, and Merel Ross of Bend, Oregon and a
host of Friends.
Services were at tha First Method Church, Tuesday January 8 at 2:00
p.m. Rev. Jerry Turner officiated. Organist was Mrs. Walter Hickey,
Soloist was Mrs. Walter Hickey. Soloist was Mrs. Don Powell who sang
"How Great Thou Art."
Interment was in the Edgewood Cemetery. Arrangements by Kirks
Funeral Home Bowling Green.
Pallbearers were grandsons: Rick Kelly, William Ross II, Steven
Rogers, John Mitalovich, Dan Orf, and David Cox.
Honorary pallbearers were Robert Peden, James Wilson, Cecil Morris,
Robert Fike, Bryan Frazier and Les Burnett.
