J. N. Church Dies at Age 76
Jasper Newton Church, 76, died this morning at his home at 2048 E.
Second street. He had been in ill health for the past several years. He
was born at Big Stone Gap, Va., Nov. 11, 1879. He had lived in Bend 36
years. A carpenter by trade, he retired some years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel, two daughters, Mrs. John Yargan,
Spokane, Wash., and Mary Ethel Church, Bend; a step-son, Ryamond L.
Chaney, Warwick, Va., and two step-daughters, Mrs. Harry Owen, Henry, S.
D., and Mrs. Francis Chess, Santa Monica, Calif. He also leaves a
sister, Miss Sidney Rebecca Church, Marlon, Va.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 25, at 10 a.m. at the
Niswonger-Winslow chapel. Rev. Arthur Hyland of the Assembly of God
church will officiate. Burial will be in a local cemetery.
