Notes for Eva Elizabeth ROSS


Miss Eva E. Ross
Departed this life at 4:40 p. m. Wednesday, April 19, at the home of Dr.
and Mrs. A. W. Foreman in this city, aged 24 years, six months and 28
days. Her father, Simeon Ross, resides at Farber, Mo., whither the
remains were taken on the 10:04 a. m. train Thursday after a brief
funeral service conducted from the residence by Rev. A. N. Simmons at
8:30. Her father, sister Nettie and H. T. Johnston accompanied the
remains to Farber, where they were laid at rest at three p. m. Miss Ross
had made her home with her aunt, Miss Adelaide Ross since she was three
years of age.
In May 1894 she graduated from our public school. In September 1895
she entered the Deaconess school at Chicago, graduating from there in the
spring of '97. The following fall she entered the Women's Hospital in
St. Louis, as nurse. She remained in St. Louis until Jan. 7th, '99, when
she was brought home very ill with la grippe (influenza). She had
recovered from la grippe and had been able to be among her friends but a
few weeks when she was taken down with consumption (TB). She attended
church on Sunday before she was taken ill Monday evening.
Deceased leaves a father, two brothers and two sisters to mourn her
death. Her many friends extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved
family.
