Notes for Recompence STANBERY

Called "Col. Recompence Stanbery". Col. Stanbery was an officer in the
Continental Army, owned a large amount of property in Scotch Plains,
and was a prominent man in public affairs. Married 1st Sarah, daughter
of John J. Chetwood; married 2nd Sarah, daughter of James Morris;
married 3rd Charity Steel, a widow; married 4th Ann Curry. [Greaves
also gives death date as 9/3/1839]
