Notes for George Blight HALSTED

He graduated at Nassau Hall, Class of 1839. During the Civil War he served as
Captain, during which time he was imprisoned at the infamous Libby Prison. He
was eventually exchanged and was present at General Lee's surrender. He was
promoted to the rank of Major.
