Woodruff Chronicles, II, page 18.
He had married three times and the abstract of his will (ANJ 37:408, dated
1795, Nov. 13, ElizabethTown, Essex Co. To "Daughter Esther Randall (note
this error in spelling or in typography and should read Esther Fitz Randolph)
all the moiety or equal one-half of land in the Miami Lands, commonly called
Symmes' Purchase, held in common with John Hendricks, proprietor of other
half. Daughter Mary Hendricks, 6 acres off west end of island and to adjoin
land of said John Hendricks; also 12 pounds (money). Grandson John Woodruff,
one-half of homestead, also one-half of woodland on the Neck; Grand daughter
Hannah Zeluffee, the other one-half part of homestead, woodland and remainder
of lands, also my large bedstead.
David Woodruff saw Revolutionary War service and during the battle of
Springfield, he was one of the volunteers who help capture the British Ship
Blue Mountain.
