Connett Genealogy, by Albert N. Connett, (1964), page 3:
Gardner and wife were communicants of the Westfield Presbyterian Church, in fact the church history names him as one of the founders of the church living there in 1750. Hie will made 19 June 1772, proved 31 March 1784, names Executors wife Elizabeth
and son Edward; inventory made April 2, by Matthias and Jesse Clark. Witnesses Eliphalet and Sarah Marsh, Jesse Clark. Elizabeth "widow" of Essex Co., made her Will 21 June 1786, proved 23 February 1788; inventory 13 June 1787; Executors Son Edward
and daughter Rhoda Connet. Both named the children. Witnesses for Elizabeth were Moses and Joanna Ross and William Coles.
