Notes for A. Edward WOODRUFF

Woodruff Chronicles, II, page 212. He distinguished himself in the legal
profession in New York City. He maintained also a delightful home at Rahway
called "Stanwood". He became interested in genealogy and left some records
but, like many of that time, he presumed that his ancestor was the John (2)
Woodruff, High Sheriff of ElizabethTown, rather than Joseph (3) Woodruff,
founder of the Cranford-Westfield branch of the family.
