Notes for Jesse CLARK

Rev. War Private; Essex County
Jesse 4 Clark, was son of Henry 3 Clark, was born at Westfield about 1739.
He was md. at Westfield, Oct. 26, 1760 to Charity Scudder, who was born about
1744. Mr. Clark served in the Revolutionary Army, and lived at Westfield. On
Sept. 17, 1771 he was administrator of his father's estate. He and his wife
were members of the Westfield Church, and he was on the first Board of
Trustees in 1788.
In Nov. 3, 1770, Jesse Clark, of the Borough of Elizabeth, yeoman,
gave a power of attorney to Recompense Stanbury, Esq., to collect rents and
moneys due him. His wife, died Nov. 20, 1811, and he died Dec. 24, 1815. Both
are buried at Westfield. His will, which was probated Jan 9, 1816, names his
children and a number of grandchildren. [C.C.Gardner, Collection].
