It seems Eliza Clark and Arthur St Clair Denver's dau. Cornelia was named after his sister. She never married and died in Washington DC in 1935. We are not sure of Eliza as we found she and her daughter were in Los Angeles and were taken to an insane
asylum together. They owned either a citrus grove or avacado grove in San Diego. Arthur died in Washington DC in 1895 and travelled with his older brother James.

I have attached a photo of Arthur StClair Denver. He was a Colonel in the
Army during the Civil War. His brother was a General in the Army and was
a Presidential Candidate, but he had shot and killed a newspaper man in
California in a dual. So that kept him from running. General Denver was
appointed territorial Governor of Bloody Kansas to clean up the area,
which included Colorado. So the city of Denver was named for him.

Regarding the photo. We were contacted two summers ago by a lady who
stated she found the photo while antique shopping. She did not say
exactly, but I thought his name was on it. She restored it herself and
found we had him in our web site and contacted us and asked if we were
relatives. I filled her in on how he was related to us. She sent us a
copy a few months back. I have not heard from her since. I did write here
a letter thanking her for the photo. I heard from her by e-mail, but I no
longer have her e-mail address, as it was on our new computer that had to
be reformatted and with that went her e-mail address.
She is;
Dana Scanlon
Real Estate Appraiser

She said she just like to refurbish old photos and that she sent us a
copy and a copy to the Placerville Historical Society.
