N.J. Cal. Wills, Vol. 8, pg. 74;
Elmer Sayre Clark, in Clark of Elizabeth Town in New Jersey, Summary of
Lineages, shows James (1745-1794), of Scotch Plains, N.J. with wife as
Esther Marsh (1746-1818). James was a Private in the Essex County
Militia during the Revolutionary War.
8/30/1794 - James Clark of Essex Co.; will of. Wife, Easter, 1/3 of personal and use of remainder real estate while widow. To Easter Clark (born of the body of Rebecca Tucker), 8 pounds with interest, when 18. Son, Samuel...Daughter, Sarah Clark, 1/3
of personal estate...and [daughter] Phebe Allen... Executors - friend, Col. Jedediah Swan, Esq. of Scotch Plains, said Co. Witnesses - Elias Clark, Sarah Spence, David Osborn. Proved 10/4/1794. Lib. 33, p. 367; a map of his property is in Volume 1 of
maps, p. 67.
