of William Haymond and Cassandra Clelland his wife Henry Clarke Jr and Mary Haines Valentine his wife William Haymond was captain of militia in 1776 under Col Patrick Henry and had command of Prickett's Fort on the Monongahela river He was selected by
the Assembly in 1777 to administer the oath of allegiance to the people of his section In 1781 he was commissioned major by Gov Harrison and through the war took an active part against the Indians Also descendant of Abraham Clarke the signer of the
Declaration of Independence and of Thomas Valentine whose home on Valentine Hill was headquarters for Washington before the battle of White Plains
Genealogies of Staten Island families seem to inply that she was thrice
married: Henry Clark, Sylvanus Oakley and David Cammee [Camel].
