I have information on a Jehu John, son of Robert and Asenath ( ) John,
was born in Chester Co., PA, 2, Dec. 1759. Came to Indiana in 1815,
settling in Franklin Co. Jehu married Elizabeth DAVID, b. 4, Aug. 1763,
Philadelphia, PA; d. 19, Feb. 1846. He died 30, June 1837. Their sons
were Robert, Enoch D., Jehu Jr. and Isaac John.
Myrtilla John, dt. of Dr. Jehu and Emily (LOOKER) John of Cincinnati,
Ohio married Sylvan B. Morris, in Harrison, Ohio. She was a cousin of
Dr. John D.P. John, President of Depauw University.
Jehu John was a Rev. War Soldier. DAR Lineage Vol. 102, page 65
He and Elizabeth are buried at the Old Brookville Cemetery, Brookville,
IN.
This information taken from Sylvan Morris Toner's application to join
the "Society of Indiana Pioneers". It was approved 5, Feb. 1958. The
