Notes for Isaac HENDRICKS


Private in the Essex County Militia during the Revolutionary War.
May have lived in the Turkey [New Providence] area, as did brother Abraham.
Possibly member of St. John's Church in Elizabethtown.

Isaac Hendricks was born in Westfield , New Jersey in 1718. He supported the American Revolution by providing wood to Washington 's army. His service is recorded in Stratford & Wilson 's Certificates and Receipts of the Revolution in New Jersey, pp. 86
and 109. He was married to Lydia Craig. He had a daughter of Abigail Hendricks who married Christopher Denman. Isaac died in Westfield , New Jersey on 10 Feb 1788.
