Notes for David CLARK

The division of the estate of Asher Brown was made in 1795 between
Caleb Brown, his son, and Hannah Brown Clark, a granddaughter.
We the Subscribers being appointed Commissioners (by the Orphans Court
of the County of Essex which was held at newark on Monday the twentyeth
day of April last) to make a division of the real Estate of Asher Brown
Deceased Between Caleb Brown and Hannah Brown Clark Daughter of David
Clark. -- have met together on the Premesis and took a Survey of the
same and make the following report to the Orphan's Court now sitting at
Newark viz.
I have only one David Clark in my database 1764-1808. I have no parents for him. He married Asher Brown's daughter, Hannah, and they had as far as I know only one child, Hannah Brown Clark. Hannah, daughter of Asher, died in 1789, age 22. When
Asher's estate is divided, part goes to his son Caleb (who also died a young man) and part to Hannah Brown Clark, That and the cemetery inscriptions from Ct.Farms let me put together the story. I doubt very much that David had child, David.
[All of the above information from Wilson Brown]
*****
In 1809 John Clark and Jotham Clark were adminstrators of the estate of David Clark; David died intestate [See Unrecorded Estate papers, NJSA #8621]
"Clark, Col. David, d. June 7, 1808, aged 44 yrs., 9 mos., 17 dys." -
