Polly was the daughter of Thomas Scudder Jr. and Abigail Clark and the wife of Jehu Chadwick. The Chadwick family moved from Green County, PN to Wisconsin in 1837. They brought with them six children and she gave birth to 13 children. She and her
husband Jehu are both buried in Mt. Vernon Cemeterty.
