Notes for Phebe CLARK

Westfield Pres. Church baptism records for 1778, page 404: "Clark, ....... ,
grandchild of David Clark Sept. 13" and next entry [page 405] "Clark,
.............., c. Matthias Clark". Emma Reed Clark's notes included "Ian
Clark, born 13 Sept. 1778" without citing a source. Greaves shows Phoebe
Clark for that date. The gravestone of Matthias (b. 7 Aug 1781, d. 18 July
1782) describes him as "only son of Matthias and Charity", which lends
support to this child being Phebe rather than Ian. She died of "palsey."
