Notes for Permelia Price CLARK

See Union County (NJ) Deed Book 29 page 5, dated 1 May 1868, made by Charles R. Fowler, City of Newark, special guardian of Arabella Shotwell & Phebe A. Shotwell, infants, to William H. Gale. It recited petition of Elizabeth W. Clark, aunt of
Arabella Shotwell and Phebe A. Shotwell; recites lands of Joseph W. Clark by deed from Abner Miller, Jr., & wife, dated January 6, 1855, recorded in Deed Book 215 (P9), for Essex County, pages 39, 40 & 41; said Arabella Shotwell and Phebe A. Shotwell
being 2 of the children of Pamelia Shotwell dec'd, [who was a sister of said Joseph W. Clark, dec'd] & having an interest in said premises as heirs at law of the said Joseph W. Clark. [Note: Union County was not created until 1857, which is why the
prior deed was recorded in Essex County].
