Will of Rachel Tucker
Forassuch as it is appointed unto all the living once to die, and the time when very uncertain I Rachel Tucker of Rahway in the County of Essex and State of New Jersey being sick and weak but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding (for
which blessing I thank Almighty God) do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say -
First I order my just debts and funeral expenses to be paid and satisfied by my executors as soon after my decease as can be done with convenience.
Item. I give and bequeath to my son John Tucker the sum of one hundred dollars, to him his heirs and assigns forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my son in law the Rev. Buckley Carll the sum of sixty dollars to him his heirs and assigns forever.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my son in law John Marsh Clark the sum of sixty dollars to him his heirs and assigns forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my son in law Thomas Chapman the sum of fifty to him his heirs and assigns forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my grandson Ephraim Tucker, son of my deceased son Samuel the sum of fifty dollars to him his heirs and assigns forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Harriet Crowell, the wife of Nathan Crowell the sum of thirty dollars.
Item. I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Lockey Tucker, daughter of my son John, the sum of thirty dollars.
Item. I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Charlotte Hhatfield, wife of Job Hetfield, the sum of thirty dollars.
Item. I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Catherine Clark, wife of James R. Clark, the sum of thirty dollars.
Item. I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Lockey C. Tucker, daughter of my deceased son Samuel, the sum of thirty dollars.
And all that remains of my estate after the payment of funeral charges expenses and the several legacies as herein before directed to be paid - It is my will that an equal division therof be made among the several legatees herein named share and share
alike.
And lastly I nominate my son in law John Marsh Clark, and the husband of my grand daughter Caroline, Latham Clark, Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all and every former or other wills by me at any time made. I hereby declare
this only to be my last Will and Testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eighth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five.

by the said Rachel Tucker to be
her last Will and Testament in the [signed] Rachel Tucker [seal]
presence of us.

Essex County viz: Hannah Freeman one of the witnesses to the within will, being duly sworn, did depose and say that she saw Rachel Tucker the testatrix therein named sign and seal the same and heard her publish pronounce and declare the same to be her
true last will and testament; that at the doing thereof the said testatrix was of a sound and disposing mind and memory as far as she knows and as she verily believes; that John Mason and martha Marsuch [sp?] the other subscribing -------------- were
present at the same time, and signed their names as witnesses thereto, together with the deponent in the presence of the said testator and that the said testator died more than ten days last past.

Essex County viz: John Marsh Clark Executor in the within testament named being duly sworn, did depose and say that the within instrument containing the true last will and testament of Rachel Tucker, the testator therein named, so far as he knows and
as he verily believes, tht he will well and truly perform the same by paying first the debts of said deceased, and then the legacies in the said testament specified, so far as the goods, chattels, and credits of the said deceased can thereunto extend
and that he will make and exhibit unto the surrogates office of Essex a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased that have or shall come to his knowledge or possessionor to the possession of
any other person or persons for his use, and render a just and true account when thereunto lawfully required.
Sworn before me
this 28 November 1825 [signed] John Marsh Clark

Probate of the foregoing will was duly issued as follows, viz:
I Francis C. F. Randolph, Surrogate of the County of Essex do certify the annexed to be a true copy of the last will and testament of Rachel Tucker, late of the County of Essex, deceased; and that John Marsh Clark of the County of Essex one of the
Executors therein named proved the same before me and is duly authorized to take upon himself the administration of the estate of the testator agreeably to the said will.
Witness my hand and seal of office this twenty eighth day of November in the Year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred twenty five 1825.
