Notes for Robert HARRISON

Apparently kept a tavern in Terre Haute known as the Eagle and Lion.
He may have remarried after his wife's early death, and then moved
to Indiana.
May have been the son of George Harrison of Rahway Neck [Woodbridge, NJ]
whose estate was administered in 1814.
May, 1819 - Daniel Stringham and George Rector were overseers of the poor in Harrison Township. Tavern licenses were granted to Samuel McQuilkin and Robert Harrison, the latter being the "inspector of flour, beef and pork." [See "Greater Terre Haute
and Vigo County" by Oakey]
*****
Possibly had second wife Susanna, as listed in 1850 census of Harrison Twp., Vigo County at age 82, thus born c. 1768 in North Carolina. She is in the household of Noah Franklin [son-in-law?]
Listed in 1820 Census of Vigo County, Indiana with a family group of 13 people
