Notes for George Doty CLARK

Mr. Clark was born in Plains Township 19 August 1842. He lived and worked on the original Clark family farm purchased by his grandfather John in 1791. It was later owned by the Pennsylvania Coal Company. Mr. Clark passed his boyhood on the farm
and attended the common schools. He later embraced farming as his occupation and removed to the family farm in 1871. He and his wife were members of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and politically he was a Republican. (History of Luzerne County,
Pennsylvania, H. C. Bradsby, editor, S. B. Nelson & Co., publishers, 1893, p.785.).
