Mr. Benson spent his his early life at Versales, Morgan County, Missouri. He married Sarepta Jane Dunn.
He was a resident of Dallas County 40 years. He was a farmer; the home he died in was on Second Avenue (also known as the Kaufman Road). He was a faithful member of the Methodist Church and was an ardent worker in the little church at Lagow. Mr. Benson
taught a Sunday school class for many years, having attended the same Sunday school for 35 years.
Mr. Benson was survived by his widow and the following daughters: Mrs. J. C. (Jennie) Riddell, Mrs. W. E. (Ida) Hixson, Mrs. A. A. Meek, all of Dallas, and Mrs. J. T. (Annie) Reese of Greenville. He was also survived by two grandchildren who had made
their home with him: Gladys Scudder and Perrin Scudder.
Perrin Taylor married Sarepta Jane Dunn Rickabaugh in 1872 and had five children,
