Notes for David MILLER

Ross Family pages 10-11.
Was born about 1718, probably near Rahway. He lived on the road running from
Rahway to Westfield, opposite the road leading to the Scudder School. He was
probably the David Miller who was captured by the Tories 3-4-1782 with some of
his sons. He died 2-17-1787 at age 69 and is buried at the First Presbyterian
Church in Rahway. His will is dated 10-17-1786 and probated 2-23-1787. It
mentions his four daughters and five living sons. Also mentioned were
grandchildren, David Miller (son of Ichabod) and Phebe Scudder. His wife's
first name was Sarah and she died 7-26-1782 at age 63 and is buried next to
her husband. He may have married a second time as an unnamed wife is
mentioned in his will. -- Ross Family page. 10.
Ross has this couple as the parents of Hannah Miller who married Daniel
Clark, shown in this compilation as #1814. Other sources show Daniel Clark's
wife as Hannah Miller, daughter of Samuel Miller and Sabra Clark.
Will dated 17 Oct 1786, proved 23 Feb 1787; N.J.Cal Wills 1786-1790, page 154.
See Miller Folder, Special Collections, Rutgers University.
Probably son of Jonathan who made will 1727...in it he mentions David as one
of three of his sons who were under age. Jonathan lived in Rahway as
mentioned in his will.
