Notes for William CLARK


William was a Private in the Essex County Militia, Revolutionary War. He died
at 97 years, 3 months and 11 days. he and his brother Azariah were taken
prisoners and were confined in the Old Sugar House Prison in New York City.
He was a member and Trustee of the Westfield Presbyterian Church, and a
Democrat of the old Jeffersonian type [Greaves].
See deed [copy in file] dated 23 February 1839 bet. Wm. Clark and Sarah his
wife and Andrew H. Clark, all of Westfield - $1250 - 35 acres near Branchville
