Notes for John Miller CLARK


John M. Clark donated land in Westfield for "Matthias Clark Memorial Park". See article in Union County Standard, June 10, 1918. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles D. Motheral [518 Westfield Ave., Westfield, NJ]. At the time of his retirement in 1931 he was the third oldest member of the New York Stock Exchange, having purchased his membership in 1875. He was a member of the SAR. His widow lived at 18 West 95th Street, New York City. Refer to obituary of Mr. Clark (Westfield Leader 8 June 1932). He lived the majority of his life in New York City, according to Greaves.
