Notes for Ida M. CLARK


Her parents lived with the family in 1895.
"MRS. IDA CLARK FINK DIED AFTER ILLNESS - Mrs. Ida Clark Fink, 79, of 309 Walnut street, widow of Hiram L. Fink, died Friday morning (Jan. 29, 1937) in her home after a long illness. She as born in Westfield on January 28, 1858 and was the daughter of the late Stewart E. and Julia Frances Clark. The old Clark homestead, where she was born stood on the site now occupied by the Westfield YMCA.
The Clark family was one of the early settlers, coming here from New York. Mrs. Fink was a descendant on her mother's side, of tghe Mott family of New York. She was a member of the Westfield Presbyterian Church since 1876.
She is survived by one son, Hiram C. Fink; three daughters, Mrs. Bertha McLaughlin, Mrs. William G. Hathaway, and Miss Julia Frances Fink; three grandchildren, the Misses Dorothy and Ruth Fink, and Donald McLaughlin, all of this town, and one brother, Stewart Warren Clark of Newark.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternnoon at three o'clock at Gray's Funeral Home, 318 East Broad street with the Rev. Dr. William K. McKinney of the Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery." [Westfield, NJ "Leader", 4 February 1937]
