"Lewis E. Clark - A large number of friends and relatives attended the funeral services of Lewis E. Clark from his late home corner of Central avenue and Fourth street Dec. 5 at 2:30.
Rev. Dr. Richards, pastor of the Crescent Avenue Church, conducted the services which were very impressive. His words of comfort were consoling to the bereaved ones who have lost their father and friend.
An opportunity was given all to take a last look at the departed.
Members of the Board of Education and other prominent citizens were present.
The tokens of esteem expressed in the offerings of flowers were simple and beautiful, consisting of white and pink roses, calias, ferns and violets.
The pall bearers were J. B. Coward, B. H. Cook, W. H. Young and J. W. Murray.
Interment was in the Presbyterian Cemetery. [The Constitutionalist, Plainfield, NJ, Thursday 6 December, 1894, p. 7]
