__________________________________________________

I am sure my grandmother thought she was the first and only GORE
descendant from her line to come to Oregon and I assumed the same until
Mike Wennin supplied the information that he had GOREs descended from
the John GORE 1635 Roxbury MA line in Columbia Co. Oregon in the 1880s.
At the Archives when I got the above certs, there were none listed from
Columbia Co. in the State Index and I found no Coumbia Co. reel for the
right time frame in the drawer. I was short of time and intend to go
back when I have more than 3 hrs. I have some acquaintance with the St.
Helens/Deer Island area of Columbia Co. and can go there if I have to --
after all this rain stops!

There were a couple of variant-spelled strays in the boxes that were
brought out to me at Archives the afternoon I was there so I took the
opportunity to get them. I didn't have time for these and will get them
next time:

GORE, Frances Lucinda; Washington Co.; 15 Apr 1917; Cert. #1499
GORE, Elizabeth; Linn Co.; 16 Nov 1917; Cert. #249
GORE, Margarite; Linn Co.; 19 Oct 1905; Cert. #1440
GORE, Gladys Bertha; Sherman Co.; 1 Feb 1920; Cert. #3
GORE, John Allen; Marion Co.; 20 Nov 1919; Cert. #648
GORE, Orin L.; Union Co.; 27 Oct 1910; Cert. #3484

The two with variant spellings, GOREY and GOWER, are:

Celilo, Wasco Co. OregonCert. # 357
Address: 11 miles east of The Dalles
Name: Joseph Edward Gorey Sex: M Color: W
Age: About 45 years
Date of Death: 27 Feb 1906
Marital Status: Widowed
Cause of Death: Accidental crushing of body by
box swung by derrick

No other information.

Woodburn, Marion Co. Oregon Cert. # 572
Albert S. Gower Sex: M Color: W
Date of Birth: 1861
Date of Death: 22 Nov 1916
Age: 55 years
Occupation: Fireman Marine
Informant: C.E. Taylor, Stayton, Ore.
Cause of Death: "I first saw A. S. Gower at 3:37 P.M.
11/22/16 at Woodburn, Ore in a moribund state. Patient
died on train on way from Hospital to Home. Death due to
acute dilation of heart." N. L. Rocho M.D.
Residence: Trancient
Place of Burial: Woodburn
Date of Burial: 24 Nov 1916
Undertaker: E.N. Hall, Woodburn

No other information. My supposition is that this man was buried in
Belle Passi
Cemetery here which will be easy for me to check out but I doubt there
will be
any other information for him there.

I hope these will be someone's missing links.
