Notes for Beniah BROWN


Beniah Brown served in the C.S.A. Company E, Wright's Legion, 38th Georgia Infantry. This company subsequently became known as Company G, 38th Georgia Infantry, Battey Guards. Beniah enlisted in Augusta, Georgia on 1 October 1861. He was captured at the Battle of Gettysburg on 5 July 1863; his name appears on the muster roll of C.S.A. prisoners of war held captive at Point Lookout, Maryland (Register #1, p. 10). His occupation is described on recors as Doctor, Hospital Steward and Assistant Surgeon.
