Notes for John Madison "Matt" MILLS


John "enlisted as private in Co. B of the 9th U.S. Infantry on July 18,
1900. Served three years and was discharged at Madison Barracks, NY, at
the expiration of his term of enlistment with a good record. Hewas with
his regiment on the expedition to China during the Boxer uprising in
1900, and in the Saram, Phillipine Islands in 1901 and 1902. After being
discharged, he returned to Indiana, then went to IL & IA..." (Source:
